more knitting.

So, I am still learning how to knit. I have been adventureous lately and trying my hand at lacework and shaping. Thanks to a great Ravelry friend that secretly sent me blocking supplies, I am finally learning how to block and make the most of my projects. I can't believe I have never tried this before.:P This gift was a big inspiration for me. I have been knitting nonstop ever since. Thanks, Rachel. :) ...

BIG BEN

GAME ON!!

Cast on 28 stitches. (Or a multiple of 7)
Knit 7 rows
Purl 7, knit 14, Purl 7.
On the wrong side, do the opposite.
*the 14 stitches in the middle will be stockinette stitch for the cable set up.

Knit a long during the game and every time Big Ben screws up make a cable to the left.
Touch down passes= cable to the right.

Make them random, or be specific, I don't care. But what every you do, don't stop knitting!

Jersey Stripes Hat

Jersey Stripes Hat

By: Ellisha Barmore

(ish174)

Materials: Size 7 DPNs

Worsted Weight yarn: Caron Sunflower, Black, White

Cast on 78 (86,92) stitches with provisional crochet chain with waste yarn.

Folded Brim:

With Black, Knit stockinette stitch for 6 rows, 1 purl, 6 more stockinette.

Fold at the Garter row and pick up the provisional stitched and knit two ends together around.

Knit 4 more rows with Black.

Start Stripe Sequence as follows:

3 rows Gold, 1 black, 3 white, 1 black, 10 gold, 3 white, 1 black, 3 gold, 3 black

Start decreasing for crown by K2 tog at beginning and SSK at each end of DPNs on every other row until 8 stitches remain on needles. Sew together to close crown

Embellish, Block, Enjoy.

Go Steelers!

Notes:

It is always best to measure head size prior to starting. Every head is different and you may need to adjust cast on number as needed.

I like the folded brim because it is neat looking and snug. You may prefer a different brim, such as the k1p1, etc. Just be sure to start with provisional so the Stripe sequence is centered and you can go back to adjust the beginning as needed.

Just finished the Logo blanket.

It only took a year to finish, but the logo blanket is finished.

I love these patterns, but they are very time consuming.
I would love to do something with the back, but I'm exhausted.
Now that it's finished...I think I would like to add a little more length to it.
It fits a queen size bed, but doesn't have any extra to hang over the sides.
That won't go over well with a blanket hog of a husband and I.

New at this...

So, here I am. I've never blogged before. Thought I'd give it a shot.

I pretty much don't have anything to talk about unless its knitting or football. :P
